Fire Safety

The course will follow the same principles as the Active Threat / Active Shooter Response Course. The lead instructor, recently retired from the Honolulu Fire Department, brings over 25 years of invaluable experience to the program, ensuring participants receive top-notch training. The course is comprehensive and covers various aspects of fire response:

  • Emergency Situation Recognition: Participants will learn how to assess potentially hazardous situations and identify signs of fire hazards.
  • Emergency Situation Response: Proper response techniques to different types of fires, including rapidly burning and smoldering fires, will be taught.
  • Using Fire Alerts: Attendees will become familiar with different types of alarm systems and their proper usage through a pull station simulation.
  • Using Fire Fighting Equipment: Proper techniques for using a fire extinguisher will be demonstrated using the advanced Lion Fire Extinguisher Simulator.
  • Proper Evacuation Drills: Attendees will practice fire escape routes and rally points, including attendance gathering and marshalling.
